Kaduna United are set to hire Portuguese coach Sergio Daniel because they wish to return to international football.
Kaduna United general manager, Mansur Jibo told MTNFootball.com that the deal to employ former Benfica youth team coach was almost done and that hewill be given the target of at least continental ticket.
“We are bringing in a foreign coach in order to secure continental ticket,” said Jibo.
“If you look at the team that played in the continent two seasons ago, bulk of the players are in the team who struggled to survive last season, so we believe a tactically sound coach is needed, so we are going for Sergio.
“We all saw what our last foreign coach (Maurice Cooreman) did.
“The deal is at an advanced stage, and he would definitely be told he should get at least continental ticket for us at the end of the season.”
Kaduna barely escaped relegation last season after they featured in the group stage of the 2011 CAF Confederation Cup.
