Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant sat out of practice Monday with a strained right foot.
Bryant was kicked in the foot in the third quarter of Sunday's 99-92 preseason loss to the Sacramento Kings .
The foot is bruised and Bryant is listed as day to day, according to a team spokesman.
"They told me it was day to day and when they tell me it's day to day, that means that, in my opinion, at any day he can be released to play again," said Lakers coach Mike Brown. "I'll justwait for them to clear him and then he'll be playing again."
Bryant missed several practices and sat out a game earlier in training camp because of discomfort in the same right foot.
The 17-year veteran was able to finish Sunday's game despite the foot injury and scored a game-high 21 points on 6-of-12 shooting.
"I'll tell you, he's a tough son of a gun," Brown said. "I know during one of the timeouts he had his shoe off and he had (Lakers physical therapist) Judy (Seto) over there doing something to hisfoot ... I don't know what she wasdoing but he laced the shoe back up and went out on the floor."
The Lakers have two games remaining on their preseason schedule -- Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center and Thursday against the Kings in Sacramento.
Two other Lakers players sufferedminor injuries in Sunday's game, with Steve Nash turning his right ankle and Metta World Peace dislocating the middle finger on his right hand. Both Nash and World Peace were able to participate in Monday's non-contact practice, with World Peace wearing a splint on his finger.
"He's tough because I would probably be out for about six months," Brown said about WorldPeace. "When I looked at my hand,I would have passed out ... That injury gives me the heebie jeebies thinking about it."
Lakers forward Jordan Hill (herniated disk) continues to be listed as day to day, but practiced Monday.
"I think he's close, but I don't know how close," Brown said.
